Mark your calendars for the Friends of the Library’s 18th annual Mystery Night on Saturday, March 24 at the Woodland Public Library, 250 First Street. Doors open at 6 pm and we hope you can join us for this game show-themed dinner theater event.
Tickets include admission to the midway of games in the library from 6 to 7 pm. During this fun hour guests can stroll through the library and play a variety of carnival-style games to win prizes. In between games don’t forget to enjoy wine, beer and snacks while bidding on lots of fantastic items in a silent auction.
Beginning at 7pm, the evening’s play, “Let’s Make a Deal,” continues the tradition of Murder in the Library. This year’s cast once again includes well-known local “celebrities” enacting a mystery only the audience can solve to win a prize. As always, throughout the play guests will be sure to recognize events and references to life in our town.
The Friends are once again presenting their largest annual fundraiser dinner theater style. The entire event will take place upstairs, inside the library. “Let’s Make a Deal” will be presented in the gorgeous rotunda -- among the guests, who will be seated and enjoying a delicious dinner while keeping their eyes open for clues and trying to solve this year’s mystery -- and maybe even participating in the wheeling and dealing!
Both live and silent auctions offer a variety of prizes for all budgets. Popular items with bidders in the past have included jewelry, wine packages, golf packages, numerous items from local restaurants and businesses, beach getaways, and casino packages. Our last mystery night raised thousands of dollars to continue the support of our library including programming for children, teens, adults, summer reading, educational activities, author appearances, and more. Come have some fun again this year while you bid on great prizes and help keep our wonderful library such a vital part of Woodland.
All proceeds benefit the Woodland Public Library. The Friends of the Library (FOL) is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our library, the oldest operating Carnegie Library in the state.
Mystery night tickets include a catered, sit-down dinner as well as all the entertainment. The menu will include a meat or vegetarian option, side dishes, wines, coffee and of course, delicious homemade desserts. FOL member price is $45 or $80 per couple; non-members pay $50 or $90 per couple. Ticket information and an Eventbrite payment link can be found on the Friends’ website, www.woodlandfol.org. Alternatively, payments by check (payable to Friends of the Library) should be mailed as soon as possible to FOL Mystery Night, P.O. Box 545, Woodland, CA 95776.
FOL members, as always, receive discounted ticket prices. Memberships are currently half-price and are available via PayPal on the Friends’ website: www.woodlandfol.org.
Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets soon and be prepared for a delightful evening in the library filled with fun, friends, food, and of course… murder.
